The Bible Book by Book

A Bible book overview is called a synopsis. There are many very good ones available. Some are very brief and give just the basic gist of each book while others are incredibly thorough. I have been working over the years at writing a synopsis for each book of the bible but am not ready to put my own work on line just yet.

The following is a link, which will open up the COMPLETE Bible synopsis covering all sixty-six book of the Bible, chapter by chapter written by John Nelson Darby. He lived in the 1800s so the English may be a bit different than what you may be accustomed to but it is written in a very easy and straightforward manner. This is by far the most famous and best trusted whole bible synopsis ever produced. It has been used by millions of people over the years and I trust it will be a big help to you as well. When you click on the link, a list of all the Bible books will appear. Click on a book that you are interested in studying. Numbers representing each chapter of that book plus an introduction will appear. Click the number of the chapter you are studying and the synopsis for that chapter will appear. Just use the forward and back buttons to navigate to the other chapters.

Other even more complete overviews of the Bible are available called ‘Commentaries’. These actually go through the entire Bible literally verse by verse with notes, observations, comments and analysis for every line. My personal favorite of these is by Adam Clarke. It as well as several others can be found on the link at the bottom of this page.

I also think you should know about another extremely powerful Bible study tool called E-Sword. The Bible is referred to in the Bible in Ephesians chapter six as ‘The sword of the Spirit’. E-Sword is the result of years of incredibly hard work by a software genius named, Rick Meyers who put his thousands of hours of amazing work on line for free.

Click on the link below and it will take you to the e-sword home page. Then go to the option on the left side to download. You will be able to select several versions of the Bible as well as commentaries and other resources that you will be able to navigate to and use for deeper and more thorough Bible study. You can even have several versions of the bible open at once for easy cross-referencing. It is an entire Bible college education right at your fingertips. God Bless you Mr. Meyers and thank you for your love for God’s word! Here is the link.
