Alaskan Gospel Music

There are many people who say they are involved in music 'ministry'. They write and record music and perform in concerts aimed at Christian audiences. Much of the music is good and offered with a genuine desire to honor God, edify the believers and point non-believers toward faith in Christ. (that's what 'Christian ministry does)

Unfortunately though, there is much offered in the name of 'Christian music' that is at it's core merely a 'product' to sell to a market niche. Only God knows the hearts of the individuals and can truly discern the motives of a person's heart. I can say however, that I know when I am personally being blessed and built up in my faith and when I am being grieved in my spirit because the music is devoid of any sense of the Lord's presence.

It is not automatic that a Christian artist who performs concerts and sells recordings in not truly a music minister of the gospel. Nor is it automatic that a person who gives their music out without charge is operating from pure motivations. I have found though, that when a person lives to honor the Lord and bring others into the Lord's presence in worship- it tends to come through.

The following are links to music made by Christian artists here in Alaska who have a pure desire to honor God in all that they do. They are not out to sell their music as products although the music is in many cases better than the music typically being sold.

The first link is the music of Tony and Char. They have been serving the Lord in Alaska for a long time and have made their music and poetry available on line. The Bible sometimes refers to the Church as 'The bride of Christ'. The Music of Voice of the Bride is a reflection of the voice of the Lord's pure church singing back to the Lord in worship, praise and adoration. Not everything that calls itself the church truly IS the church. Jesus is coming back for a bride that is pure and spotless. The music of Tony and Char is a call for us to worship God in holy reverence and gratitude for his goodness in our lives. They are not content to just let us sit back and coast. They are more like John the Baptist as a voice calling in the wilderness telling us make straight the way of the Lord and to live lives worthy of the call of God. They love the Lord and they love God's people and want to seek to inspire us to give God our whole heart and not the 'bare minimum' as we often do if left to our own devices. I trust it will bless you as it has me.
